#22 - Faith Amid Despair & the Poem of Wisdom — Job 19 & 28

1. Close read Job 19:23–27: Words to own: Redeemer (kinsman-vindicator), dust, flesh, behold. Students rewrite the declaration in contemporary English without losing its force. Caution: honor the text as literature; students may note later religious readings without being required to adopt them.

2. Wisdom poem map: Job 28: miners go into darkness for silver and gold; wisdom has no market price; God understands its way. Create a three-circle diagram: what humans can extract / what they cannot buy / where the poem finally places wisdom (28:28).

3. Resilience definition draft: Working definition so far, using Dickinson + Job 1–3 + 7/14 + 19/28. Must include what resilience is not (denial, easy answers, the friends’ speeches as foil even if unread in full).

4. Peer review: Swap definitions. Partner highlights the strongest verb and the weakest evidence.
